Ruth E. Hoy, 82, passed away February 25, 2014, in her Greenfields residence.
She was the wife of William A. Hoy.
Born on March 5, 1931, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Daisy (Reichert) Stoudt.
She was a Reading High School graduate.
Ruth was employed by Bachman Foods last working in the gift division. She was also a lunch aide at Glenside School.
Ruth had a deep faith, and was an avid reader of the bible. She loved her dogs, Duke, Harley and Davidson, all of whom predeceased her.
She was a member of the Eastern Star with her sisters Fern and Jane.
Ruth liked to play guitar, violin, accordion, mandolin, banjo and piano.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her daughter, Marie E. Hoy, Wernersville.
Other survivors include her siblings, Charles "Chick" Stoudt Jr., Boyertown, and Jane Longenecker, Wyomissing. Four grandchildren, Crystal and Christopher Lutz, Mike Hoy Jr. and Chelsea Lutz, and two great grandchildren, Jared and Jesse Lutz, also survive her. She was the dear mother to her son, Michael who passed away June 17,2013. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Wayne, Edward, and Fern.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Laureldale Cemetery Chapel, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605. A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the chapel, with inurnment to follow.
