Ruth L. Friel

Ruth Leah (Spicer) Friel, 89, was pronounced dead of natural causes, November 24th, at 1:10 pm in her Spring Township residence.

She was the widow of Eugene William Friel, who died November 17, 1991.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Lotz) Spicer.

She was employed six years as a sales clerk at John Wanamakers, Philadelphia, until 1937.

Friel was later employed in the same capacity for Hochschilds in Baltimore until her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Judith L. (Friel) wife of Rev. Walter L. Krieger of Reading.

Other survivors include a sister, Helen (Spicer) Loudenslager of Woodbury, New Jersey and two grandchildren.

Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Humane Society, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, Pa 19604. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
