Ruth I. Deturck

Ruth I. (Wanner) DeTurck, 87, formerly of Oley, died January 18, 2014 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township. Prior to ManorCare, Ruth had spent her last 10 years residing at Grand View Manor, Fleetwood.

She was the wife of Roy S. DeTurck for 32 years. He died April 21, 1998.

Born July 13, 1926 in Fleetwood, she was a daughter of the late George D. and Esther L. (Hehr) Wanner.

Ruth was a graduate of Fleetwood High School.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Pricetown.

Surviving are her three children: Timothy R., husband of Diana Breidegam of Somerset, MA; Gary L. Breidegam of Sewickley, Allegheny County, PA and Susan M. Granger of Bradenton, FL.

Also surviving are her two siblings: Donald G. Wanner of Fleetwood and Kathryn Yenser of Fleetwood.

In addition, there are five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Ruth was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey L. Breidegam who died in 1996 and her two siblings: Robert D. Wanner and Anna M. Meyer.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley. Viewings will be held Wednesday evening from 7-9 and Thursday morning from 10-11. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Richmond Township.
