Ruth L. Davis

Ruth Lockhart Davis, 100, a resident at the Highlands at Wyomissing, died November 6, 2009 in the Reading Hospital.

Born May 7, 1909 in Reading, she was the beloved daughter of the late Viola E. (Harff) Reifendifer and Edward Davis

Ruth was a graduate of Girls High School, Reading, class of 1927.

She was employed as the executive secretary and later, as office manager for Wyomissing Glazed Paper for 33 years, retiring in 1960.

Ruth was baptized, confirmed and a life long member of First Presbyterian Church, Reading. She served as a deacon, assisted with the church newsletter and was a member of Young at Heart Senior Club at the church.

Other memberships included Reading Alumni Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority at McCann's School of Business, Reading Hospital Auxiliary and Berks County Historical Society Auxiliary.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 37 S. 5th Street, Reading, 19602. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
