Ruth Louise (Boden) Crane, 68, died May 28, 2013, in her Spring Ridge residence.
She was the wife of James E. Crane, to whom she married on September 4, 1965.
Born in Woodbury, NJ, she was a daughter of the late William J. and L. Margaret (Funk) Boden.
She was a graduate of Woodstown High School and attended the University of Maryland.
Louise began her career as an assistant to the Red Cross Field Director in Schweinfurt, Germany from 1966-1969, while her husband was serving in the US Army. From 1969 to 1971 she was an administrative assistant for the Athletic Director at North Texas State University. For the majority of her professional career, she was the Human Resource Manager for Westlawn Graphic.
She attended West Lawn United Methodist Church.
Louise was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 716 for many years, and was president of the Wyomissing Hills Recreation Department. She was a member of the board of directors for the Westside Football and Cheerleading Association. She was the Jr. High and High School cheerleading coach for the Wyomissing Area School District, where her varsity squad were regional champions and competed in nationals in Texas.
She was the coordinator of a local breast cancer support group.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, L. Renee, wife of Chris Myers, Arlington, VA; Dana L. Crane, wife of Jonathan Lamb, Olney, MD; and Sheila L., wife of Marty Borbonus, Blairsville. There are two siblings, Joanne M., wife of Larry Hall, Davidsonville, MD and William J., husband of Carol Boden, Pennsville, NJ. Nine grandchildren also survive her.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Tyler J. Myers in February 2011.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private in Columbia Gardens, Arlington, VA. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O.
