Ruth Esther Coldren, 85, of Lincoln Park, died April 6, 2009 at 1:59 pm in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where she had been a patient since March 23rd.
She was the wife of Charles R. Coldren, whom she married October 6, 1956.
Born in her Muhlenberg Township residence on January 20, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Raymond L. and Myrtle I. (McGowan) Eichner.
She was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
Ruth was employed with American Chain and Cable for a number of years.
She retired from the Wilson School District after working 18 years in the Lincoln Park Elementary School cafeteria.
Ruth was a member of Grace (Alsace) United Church of Christ, Muhlenberg Township.
She is also survived by a daughter, Debra J. (Coldren), wife of Richard L. Hoffman of Lincoln Park.
Other survivors include three grandchildren: Ryan M. Hoffman, Drew B. Hoffman and Rachel E. Hoffman.
She was predeceased by a sister, Emma S. (Eichner) Keffer.
Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. James W. Adam officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
