Ruth Breon

Ruth H. Breon, 98, of Port Clinton, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, in the care of St. Luke's Gelsinger Hospital. She was the widow of Robert H. Breon, who died on March 1, 2004.

Born in Molino to the late Oscar E. and Mamie M. (Schaeffer) Clay, Ruth graduated from Auburn High School in 1944.

Ruth worked as a knitter for several area mills, and worked for many years with her husband at Lee Mark. She also ran her own house cleaning service.

A woman of great faith, she was a member of Congregational Free Church of Christ.

Ruth was an avid sewer and quilter and enjoyed puzzles. She loved to walk. She was called to help others, and she offered much assistance to the hikers on the Appalachian Trail.

A frequent visitor to Marian and Nick's Kwik Shoppe in Shoemakersville, Ruth was a connoisseur of the banana split.

Left to treasure Ruth's memory are her children: Allen R. Breon, husband of Rhonda, of Clarksville, MD; Susan R. Breon of Greenbelt, MD; and Dorothy G. Dunkle, wife of Ray, of Hamburg; her grandchildren: Jennifer R. Tucci (Vince), Matthew R. Breon (Esse), Lisa E. Kemmerer (Shawn), Andrea L. Reese (Kevin), and Kathryn R. Breon (Breccan Albers); and great grandchildren: Anthony Tucci, Paige Kemmerer, Clark Reese, Luke Reese, and expected Baby Albers. Ruth is also survived by her sister, Marian Reager of Schuylkill Haven, as well as her nieces, nephews, and their families.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Robert, Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Leona Smith, Doris Grube, Harold Clay, Claude Clay, Leah Clay, Russel Clay, and Grace Clay.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational Free Church of Christ, 81 McKeans Ridge Road, Orwigsburg, PA 17961, with committal to follow at Port Clinton Cemetery.
