Ruth Boyer

Ruth (Kantner) Boyer, 90, of Lower Alsace Township and formerly of Laureldale, died November 15, 2008 in the Reading Hospital, in the arms of her loving family.

She was the widow of Guy Kenneth Boyer, who died April 8, 1992.

Born in Fleetwood on September 26, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Rose (Zieber) Kantner.

She was employed a number of years as a licensed practical nurse.

Ruth was a member of Salem Shalter's Church.

She is survived by six children: Josephine R. Kline of Muhlenberg Township; Jacqueline L. (Kline), wife of Ellis J. Edmonds of Exeter Township; Trudy A. (Kline) Weller of Pike Township; Sandra M. (Boyer), wife of Jeffrey Bricker of Lower Alsace Township; Susan R. (Boyer), wife of Hugh N. Drey of Reading and Scott G., husband of Dalynn (Quinter) Boyer of Muhlenberg Township.

Ruth is also survived by a sister, Bessie (Kantner), widow of Robert Frick of Wernersville.

Other survivors include 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers: Earl Kantner, Harold Kantner and Edward Kantner.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Lesley J. Hand officiating. Viewings will be held Tuesday 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday 9:30 - 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Shalter's Church Cemetery, Alsace Township.
