Russell J. Sitlinger

Russell James Sitlinger, 82, of Reading, died December 10th at 2:00 pm in St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading, where he had been since November 21st.

He was the husband of Ruth Fern (Ludwig) Sitlinger.

Born in Laureldale, he was a son of the late John and Florence (Gauker) Sitlinger.

He was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Sitlinger was employed a number of years at Pollard Tire, Company, Reading, before retiring as a manager in 1993.

He was a Army Air Corps. Veteran of WWII.

Sitlinger is survived by four daughters, Lyn P. (Sitlinger) Banks of Reading, Karen R. (Sitlinger) wife of Theodore J. Kuzminski of Wyomissing, Brenda L. (Sitlinger) wife of John E. Gross of Marietta, Georgia and Deborah M. (Sitlinger) wife of Dennis A. Woodring of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include a brother, Earl Sitlinger of Downingtown, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, Pa 19604 or the Animal Rescue League PO Box 69, Mohnton, Pa 19540. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
