Russell L. Ritter

Russell L. Ritter, 93, passed away on March 1, 2011 at his daughter's home in Delaware.

Born in Douglassville, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Schaeffer) Ritter.

He was a resident of Boyertown for 55 years. Mr. Ritter was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., Pottstown, for 33 years, until his retirement in 1982. His wife, Jane Dalton Ritter, passed away on May 22, 2000.

He was a member of Schwarzwald United Church of Christ, Jacksonwald.

He is survived by a son, David D. and wife Joanne, Longs, SC; a daughter, Sally A., wife of Steve Steffel, Bear DE; and two grandchildren, Charis and Timothy Steffel. Other survivors include: brothers, Ernest Ritter of Jacksonwald and Richard Ritter of St. Petersburg FL; and sisters, Anna Dinnocenti and June Smith, both of Pottstown. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Lester, and three sisters, Grace Gottshall, Margaret Gift, and Emma Ruth.

The family wishes to thank Compassionate Care Hospice of Delaware for their caring support and Bayada Nurses Home Care for the services of their home health aides.

Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family.
