Russell R. Renninger

Russell R. Renninger, 73, of Wellsboro, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro.

Born in Oley, he was the husband of Alberta (Schnader) Renninger of Wellsboro, and the son of the late Harry S. and Sallie E. (Rothenberger) Renninger.

Russell was a US Army veteran and a member of the Potter and Tioga counties PA Farm Bureaus.

He was employed by Dana Corp. for 34 years, retiring in 1998, and attended Schwarzwald Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Kip D. Renninger of Ephrata, Russell H. Renninger of Adamstown, and Joseph L. Renninger of Wellsboro; three daughters: Lori Pennypacker and her husband George of Birdsboro, Keri J. Renninger of Greensboro, NC, and Kris A. Renninger of Jacksonwald; three brothers: Paul R. Renninger of Leesport, Carl R. Renninger of Gilbertsville, and Ronald R. Renninger of Lobachsville; five sisters: Shirley Shutt of Las Vegas, NV, Fay Lauver of Anchorage, AK, Vicki Renninger of Temple, Regina Reinoehl of Red Lion, and Eileen Renninger of Bowie, MD; nine grandchildren: Heather Setley, David Klinger, and Travis, Holly, Jacob, Jesse, Olivia, Cortney, and Daulton Renninger; and three great-grandchildren: Hayden Setley and Barry and Caitlin Klinger. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrelle R. and Harry R. Renninger, and a granddaughter, Heidi Renninger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 18, 2011 at Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, Reading. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley and again one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
