Russell G. Auge

Russell G. Auge, Jr., 96, passed away on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 at home with his wife and children by his side. He was the loving husband of Neoma Mae (Kramer) Auge, with whom he shared nearly 75 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Russell G., Sr. and Mildred (Hayes) Auge. Russell joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as a salesman for Horrigan Volkswagen for 24 years before retiring in 1984. Russell was a lifetime member of Washies FIre Co. Relief Association, West Reading Fire Co. Social Quarters, and Berkshire Heights Fire Company. He was also an active member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed crabbing in the Delaware and fishing trips in Englewood, FL.

Left to cherish his memory are wife, Neoma; daughters: Rosaline L., wife of Michael Walker, of Kenhorst, Doreen L., wife of Randall Mutter of Laureldale, and Lori A., wife of Robert Thomas of Reading; sister, Mildred Sabanos of Fleetwood; daughter-in-law, Anita Auge; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Auge III; sisters, Jane Stufflet and Jacqueline Giles; and great grandson Jayden Shadle.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL, 33607.
