Russell C. Diblasi

Russell C. DiBlasi, 85, of Cumru, passed away August 20, 2013 in Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA.

He was the widower of Gloria E. (Delewski) DiBlasi.

Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Amelia (Pero) DiBlasi.

He was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School.

Russell worked as a Foreman for Continental Container Company, now Sonoco Products, Reading, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, Shillington.

Russell was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Adamstown VFW, was a Polka Squire and a former Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts leader for St. Paul's R.C. Church, Reading and obtained the "Order of the Arrow" status.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.

Russell is survived by his three children: C. Bonnie, wife of Lt. Col. James G. Dixon, Jr., USMC, ret., Stafford, VA; David R. DiBlasi, Daytona, FL; and Diane C., wife of John J. Renninger, Sinking Spring. Also surviving are his sister, Marietta Bicknell, Cumru Township and his five grandchildren: Jarad and Nicole Renninger, Mekalah DiBlasi and Jimmy and Rusty Dixon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, Kerrick and Mitti Roads, Shillington. A visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
