Russell David Kroenig

Russell David Kroenig, 80, of Reading, died February 17, 2018, at ManorCare, Sinking Spring, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Ilse Marie (Kiefer) Kroenig.

Born in Wyomissing, he was a son of the late William C. and Theresa E. (Spangler) Kroenig.

He was employed by Uniform Company as a sales manager.

Russell was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

He enjoyed watching football and basketball, and was a car racing enthusiast.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Kristine (David) Heckler, Exeter Township; Karen (Duane) Mowrer, Robesonia; and Michael (Judy) Kroenig, Shillington; one sister, Jean Beard; four grandchildren, Amanda (Heckler) Wiczalkowski, Melissa Heckler, Emily Mowrer and Zach Mowrer; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Kaylee Wiczalkowski.

Russell was predeceased by three siblings, Ruth, Irene and Carl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John Baptist de LaSalle RCC, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA 19607 with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
