Rufus L. Bausher

Rufus L. Bausher, 97 formerly of Lenhartsville died Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Berks Heim where he had resided since December, 2009. His wife Josephine E. (Forensky) Bausher died July 22, 2007. Prior to her death they celebrated 73 years of marriage on June 12, 2007. Rufus was born in Upper Tulpehocken Township and was the son of the late Harvey W. and Suela S. (Wagner) Bausher. He worked as an assembler and shipper for ASH Pump, Hamburg for 41 years retiring in 1978. Rufus was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg since 1937 and was the oldest member. He was a member of St, Mary Holy Name Society and Union fire Company # 1, Hamburg and it's beneficial. Survivors include 2 daughters, Patricia A. wife of Dean Burkey, Shoemakersville, Joan M. wife of Keith Symons, Hamburg, 3 grandchildren, Christie wife of Bryan Smith, Windsor Township, Brett Burkey, Windsor Township and Teresa Symons, Daytona Beach, Florida, and 4 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 29th at 10:30 AM in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
