Roy S. Aukamp, 98, a resident of Lutheran Home of Topton, formerly of Drexelwood , passed away February 6, 2009 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Luretta J. (Zwally) Aukamp.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence L. and Annie L. (Smith) Aukamp.

He was employed by Howard Hosiery, Sinking Spring as a Full Fashion Knitter for 25 years and also Polymer Corporation, Northmont for 24 years, retiring as a foreman in 1976.

Roy was an active former council member of Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling. He was also an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William C. Aukamp, Sinking Spring, and a daughter, Judith A. (Aukamp) MacAdam, Chocowinity, N.C.

4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive him.

Services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 601 N. Front St., Reading, PA 19601.
