Roy Larry Heins

R. Larry ("Pepop") Heins, 87, passed away on December 15, 2023 at the Laureldale Nursing Home where he was a patient since November 27th.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Roy L. and Claire E. (Rozelle) Heins, along with two brothers, Bruce L. and David B. Heins. Larry graduated from Reading High School in 1954, after which he honorably served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958. He retired from The Reading Coca Cola Company after 29 years.

Larry was an avid birdwatcher, gardener, softball player, umpire and Philadelphia sports fan. Most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Judith L. (Schaeffer) Heins; son, Roger L. Heins and his wife Lori Lapish Heins; grandsons Josef and Ryan Heins, and step-grandson Matthew Lapish. He is also survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Behm; granddaughters: Thea, wife of Caleb James, Tate, wife of Kilian Delgado, and Emma G. Heffner; and great grandchildren: Finley Roy and Barrett Edward James, and Rowena Lis Delgado.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2024.
