Rosemary Knowles

Rosemary "Bunny" Knowles, 87, of West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, died March 7, 2014 in Rest Haven, Schuylkill Haven.

She was the wife of Austin Lincoln Knowles, whom she married August 17, 1953.

Born May 14, 1926 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Jane (Wright) deFuria.

Rosemary was a 1944 graduate of Allentown High School. She attended Kutztown State College for a year, Cedar Crest College for 3 years, where she earned a B.A. in Latin and English and then went on to study for her graduate degree at Lehigh University.

She was employed as a teacher of English and Latin for various schools for a number of years. After her career in education, she worked at Scott Paper Company in marketing research.

Rosemary was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of Cedar Crest Alumni Association.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, is her daughter, Nancy Jane (Knowles) Fry; her granddaughter, Ainsley, both of Orwigsburg and her great granddaughter, Tallulah.

Rosemary was predeceased by her brother, John Victor deFuria and her sister, Margaret Dunan.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Good Shepherd Cemetery, 160 Tuckerton Road, Muhlenberg Township. Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
