Rosemary C. Mountain

Rosemary Mountain, 92, died peacefully in her residence at the Keystone Villa in Blandon May ninth.

She was born in Girardville Schuylkill County. She was the youngest daughter of Timothy and Ellen ( Gilroy ) Carlin having six sisters and a brother. When she a young child the family moved to Philadelphia. She loved the city and made many lifelong friends there as she grew up. She returned to the area frequently to visit with family and friends. At a young age she obtained civil service position and traveled to work and live in Germany. There she met and married Thomas J. Mountain of Indianapolis Indiana who would go on to serve in the United States Army for twenty five years. They would travel and live across the United States and three tours of duty in Germany. Upon retirement they returned to Pennsylvania and lived in several locations around her beloved Shillington. She and Tom were avid bridge players. She loved spending time with her bridge buddies and was in several bowling leagues. She read constantly. She volunteered with Shillington Community Library, the Mifflin Center and delivered Meals on Wheels in Shillington. She was a devout Catholic and active in the many parishes where she lived.

She was pre deceased by her husband ,Thomas J Mountain, in January of 1998 and by son, Matthew C. Mountain, in June of 2009.

She is survived by her son Christopher J. Mountain husband of Donna P. Mountain and two Grandchildren, Erich J. Mountain and Greta K. Mountain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist de La Salle Catholic Church Shillington, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 from 9-10 a.m. in the church. Edward J.
