Rosemary "Rose" T. (Bennethum) Brown, 81, of Mohrsville, PA., passed away October 16, 2021, one day before her 82nd birthday, at her home surrounded by her family.
Rosemary was married to Paul L. Brown for 61 years.
Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Leona (Seisler) Bennethum.
Rosemary graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1958. Throughout her lifetime, Rosemary was employed by St. Joseph's School, Bortz Chocolate, Reading School District and Berks Lodge #71 Fraternal Order of Police, retiring in 2015. She was a long time and devoted member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Reading.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Paul W., husband of Karen, Leesport; John P., La Grange, North Carolina; Joseph M. husband of Tara, Bern Township; Steven M., husband of Pamela, St. Louis, Missouri; and Kathleen, wife of David Glaser, Muhlenberg Township. She was predeceased by her daughter Therese A., who passed away in 2016.
There are 11 grandchildren: Ciana Krymskiy, Ryan Glaser, Meghan Onderdonk, Haley Glaser, Amanda Zuchowski, Kasandra Kelly, Dylan Brown, Daniel Brown, David Brown, Jacob Brown and Emmelia Neff, and two great-grandchildren, Mira Krymskiy and Eva Rose Krymskiy who was named in honor of Rosemary.
Rosemary is survived by a twin brother, George Bennethum, husband of Alice of Cumru Township. She was predeceased by a brother, William G. Bennethum who passed away in 2013. Many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews also survive her.
A viewing will be held at Kuhn Funeral Home 739 Penn Avenue in West Reading on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church 1040 N. 8th Street in Reading, PA. on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. There will be a private burial for the family immediately following at Gethsemane Cemetery in Laureldale.
