Rosemarie D. (Suglia) Bondoch, 89, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, due to complications from pancreatic cancer in the care of Reading Hospital. She fought valiantly against pancreatic cancer for 9 months. She was the loving widow of Eugene L. Bondoch, Sr., who passed away on December 14, 2017.
Born in Reading to the late Antonio Aloysius and Della (Pietrantonio) Suglia, Rosemarie, a Roman Catholic Italian American, was originally a member of Holy Rosary Parish, and a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1955. She went on to pursue her education degree from Kutztown State Teacher's College. She taught at Reamstown Elementary School.
After her marriage to Eugene, she dedicated herself to raising their family. They were devout members of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church where Rosemarie established women's activity programs at the parish, including Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O.) and parochial sports, volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading; she also volunteered for the parish picnic. Rosemarie and Eugene were some of the best polka dancers at the picnic. She participated in St. Anthony's Mothers Club and 18th Ward football. Rosemarie spent countless hours organizing reunions for the Central Catholic class of 1955. Though a Cardinal, she cheered her kids and nephews on at Holy Name in sports as Blue Jays. Her voice was often heard above others coaching the referees on how to call the games. She worked at the school book store, and helped with the PTA and annual Extravaganza. Answering God's call to service, Rosemarie also allocated volunteer hours to St. Joseph Villa and Alvernia College. She was known as everyone's second mother and coach in Milmont. And being one of the eldest cousins of the Pietrantonio family she was tasked with raising, driving, counseling, teaching and mentoring her younger relatives. She happily embraced that role.
After they relocated to Delaware, Rosemarie joined St. Jude The Apostle Church. She dedicated her time to weekly Adoration and attended the Widows and Widowers group. She was also a member of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center and enjoyed Bingo, Wii Bowling, the Weigh Down Program, listening to Polka music, and her weekly luncheons with her gal pals. She loved staying connected with family and friends via snail mail and sending cards. Special thank you to Harriet P., Virginia C., Patty H., Angel E., Lorette L., Kay B., Nancy B., Richard S. and Maryann L. for your unforgettable friendships.
Left to treasure Rosemarie's memory are her children: Eugene L. Bondoch Jr. and his wife Janey Bondoch, Bernadette D. Bondoch; M. Brendan Bondoch; and Anthony M. Bondoch. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brenna and Veronica; and great grandchildren: Paxen, Kalem, Bianca, Blake, Bella, Andy, Kayla, Lauren, Anden; nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to her husband, Eugene, and her parents, Antonio and Della, Rosemarie was predeceased by her brother, Vincent Suglia and his wife Patricia, as well as her uncles: Charles, Daniel, Matthew, and Joseph Pietrantonio; and aunts: Lucia Promutico, Mary Button, Anna Aiello, Rose Marrongelle, Angelina Buzzanca, and Bottina Gancar.
Rosemarie and Eugene will be buried at St. Mary's cemetery. And together they can watch the beautiful sun rises over Neversink Mountain.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rosemarie on Friday, October 23, 2026, starting 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2600 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609, with committal to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reading.
