Roseann Melcher

Roseann Melcher, 67, died of natural causes Jan. 18 at 10:18 a.m. in her residence in Reading.

She was the wife of Robert W. Melcher Sr.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Carmen and Pauline (Screpesi) Borelli.

Melcher was employed for 25 years as a sales clerk in the toy department by Boscov's Department Stores, retiring in 2003.

She was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

Melcher was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading, where she was a Camp Fire Girls leader.

She was a past treasurer of the Mother's Club at St. Margaret's School and Camp Swatara, Bethel Township.

Melcher was an Avon sales representative and consultant for 15 years and a member of its President's Club.

She was a life member of the ladies auxiliary of Victor Emmanuel II Society, Reading.

Melcher is also survived by two sons, Robert W. Jr., Robesonia, and Rick W., Wyomissing; and two daughters, Karen A. (Melcher) Bertram, Reading, and Kathleen A. (Melcher) Kercher, Laureldale.

There are also 14 grandchildren and four great-grandsons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Viewing will be Fridat night at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Margaret's RCC 925 Centre Ave. Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
