Rose J. Smolnik

Rose J. (DiDino) Smolnik, of Spring Township, died October 28, 2013.

Her husband, John E. Smolnik, died September 3, 2009.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Bessie (Piscitello) DiDino.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

Rose was employed as a secretary for 22 years for Wilson School District, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church.

Rose was a volunteer for Berks Encore and Berks Visiting Nurse Association.

She is survived by two children, John A., husband of Debra L. Smolnik and Sandra S., wife of Jeffrey Trewella; one sister, Kathryn Albrecht; four grandchildren, Kelly Trewella, Heather Smolnik, Mark Trewella and Jase Smolnik, and one great-grandchild, Evelee Smolnik.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
