Rose M. Smith

Rose M. Smith, 89, of Wyomissing, passed away November 6, 2014 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

She was the wife of George H. Smith, whom she married in 1961.

Born August 20, 1925 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Paulino and Julia (Nicolo) Valenti.

She was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School.

Rose worked as a secretary for Textile Chemical Company, Reading, for over 19 years.

She was a former member of Alsace Lutheran Church.

Rose was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed cross stitch as well.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Denise M., wife of John J. Sabulsky, Mohnton. Also surviving are her sisters: Lydia Nowotarski, Reading, and Elizabeth Pacella, Reading; her four grandchildren: Jennifer, wife of Andrew Sacchetti, Wayland, MA; Jeremy, husband of Montse Naveja Wawrzonek, Mohnton; Julia, wife of Dennis Bierkamp, Hamburg; and Jason, husband of Samantha Wawrzonek, Boyertown; and her six great-grandchildren: Dennis, Jackson, Elena, Ryan, Rose, and Bennett.

Rose was predeceased by two sisters: Martha Miller and Margaret Leardi, and a brother, Arthur Valenti.

Services will be Monday at 12 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Viewings will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. both in the funeral home. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
