Rose M. Heck

Rose M. (Barbera) Heck, 88, died February 17, 2007 at 8:20 pm in her Laureldale residence.

She was the wife of Thomas W. Heck, whom she married 70 years ago on July 11, 1936.

Born June 28, 1918, in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Genevieve J. (Jordan) Barbera.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Rose was employed a number of years as a machine operator and mender in the Reading area hosiery industry, retiring in 1968.

She is also survived by a daughter, Rosanne B. widow of Barry F. Schaeffer of Laureldale.

Other survivors include four grandchildren; Tonette, Thomas, Todd and Theresa and seven great grandchildren; Thomas, Tiedra, Timothy, Rebecca, Samantha, Benjamin and Stacy.

There are also two great great grandchildren, Mia and Maxx and a nephew, Michael Barbera.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Phillip.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605. Viewing will be held Thursday 8:30 - 9:30 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
