Rosaria Avola

Rosaria Avola, 102, formerly of South Third Street, died Sept. 30 in Berks Heim Annex, where she had resided since 1997.

Her husband, Ignazio Avola, died Aug. 29, 1979.

Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Guiceppina (DiAiello) Cusano.

Avola was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Surviving are a son, Jules, Bethesda, Md., and a grandson.

She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Avola, and a daughter, Jeanne (Avola) Binkley.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
