Rosalie Nester

Rosalie Nester, 75, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at home in Wyomissing, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of John and Bridget (Minor) Longo. Born in Kelayres, Schuylkill County, graduated from McAdoo High School, Hazleton St. Hospital School of Nursing and Millersville University. A registered nurse, she spent most of her career in nursing education having been on the teaching staff of Reading Muhlenberg VoTech, Reading Area Community College and Alvernia University. Later she was employed by Wernersville State Hospital as a staff nurse until her retirement. After retirement, she loved spending time with friends in Florida. Rosalie is survived by her husband Denton "Denny" Nester, to whom she was married for 51 years, there are two children, Lisa (Nester) Woodward, New Jersey, and Michael Nester, Pottstown and two grandchildren Eric Nester and Marc Nester. Friends are invited to a brief viewing Monday, December 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. by Msgr. James A. Treston in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, with entombment to follow.
