Ronald Lee Torok, 76, passed away on June 26, 2023, at his Wyomissing residence. He was the loving husband of Susan L. (Foley) Torok. They married on August 26, 1967.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (Yeager) Torok. Ronald graduated from Pottstown High School in 1964, attended Ursinus College and received his associates degree at RACC. He was employed as a Vice President of Great Valley Savings & Loan, Reading. He worked as the business manager for Dr. Ezzat Hanna until his retirement. After his retirement, Ron became the part-time business manager at Calvary Baptist Church, Reading, of which he was also a member.
Ronald was very active. He loved golf, frisbee golf, hiking, biking, and going on adventures; he loved the outdoors. He recently biked to Pottstown and back much to his wife's surprise. In his later years, Ron picked up the ukulele. His go-to trick was having the ability to balance an axe on his nose.
Ronald's true passion was being a faithful servant of God and his church. He was a Kiwanis Spiritual Leader and a Gideons member. At Calvary Baptist Church he was a member of the Missions Board, Deacon, and Treasurer. He and Susan lead the Food Pantry, and taught first and second grade Sunday School. Ron was a faithful attendee of the Wednesday night prayer meetings.
Ronald loved spending time with his family. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Susan, he was a very proud father of his children: Jeffrey R. Torok (deceased), Deborah S. Martz (Derek); Marcia L. Brown (Matthew); and Matthew L. Torok (Carol); and four grandchildren: Kamryn, Kyra, Jaxen, and Kaden. His brother, Terry Torok (Donna), also survives him.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Reading. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 510 Park Ave, Reading, PA 19611 or online at https://www.calvarybaptistreading.com/. Edward J.
