Ronald A. Smith

Ronald A. Smith, 71, Laureldale, died February 26, 2007 at 11:05 p.m. in his residence.

He was the loving husband of Faith D.(Dries) Smith.

Born in Lenhartsville, he was the son of the late Arlan and Mary (Hamsher) Smith.

Ron was employed by Allentown Cement Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Ron was a Past President and Provost Marshall of the Rajah Shrine Provost Guard and a member of Lodge 62 F & AM.

He is also survived by his son, Timothy S. Smith and his daughter, Melanie J. Smith both of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include a sister, MaryJane L., wife of Milton Pyles, Molltown; two grandsons, Casey L. Mutter and Corey S. Mutter; both of Muhlenberg Township and two nephews, Michael Pyles, Wernersville and Randy Pyles, Orwigsburg.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Laureldale. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital of Philadelphia, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
