Ronald L. Nye

Ronald Lee Nye, Sr., 73, passed away April 13, 2009 in his Birdsboro residence.

He was the husband of Edith I. (Conrad) Nye, whom he has been married to for 21 years.

Born April 12, 1936 in Wyomissing, he was a son of the late George and Esther (Shenk) Nye.

He was a driver for the Continental Can Corporation, Reading, for over 35 years, retiring in 1991. Ronald was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Neversink Gun Club, Birdsboro VFW, a Teamster in his work Union and a life member of Berkshire Heights Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Ronald L., Jr., husband of Linda, Birdsboro, Donald L., husband of Barbara, Ohio, Robert L., husband of Amy, Ohio; his daughter: Susan, wife of Walter Gauger, Amity; his step-son, David W. Pletz, Kenhorst; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His sister, Betty Trate, Sinking Spring, also survives him.

A service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Friends may call Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
