Ronald E. Mcconomy

Ronald E. McConomy, 75, passed away peacefully April 16, 2011 in his Spring Township residence.

He was the husband of Gloria M. (Briggs) McConomy, whom he married January 11, 1958.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Edward McConomy and Mildred (Koerber) Woods.

Ron was a banker for over 30 years, working for Meridian Bank.

He was a volunteer for the Berks County Special Olympics from 1998 to 2005.

Ron was a member of Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mohnton, where he served on the church council.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Jay L., husband of Linda McConomy, Sinking Spring; Coleen G. "Coke", wife of Thomas Watts, Exeter and Sherri, wife of Rick Spracklin, Shillington. Also surviving is his brother, Edwin Woods, Philadelphia. Four grandchildren: Jason, Nick, Kelly, Kyle; four great-grandchildren: Haley, Carter, Layla Daniel and his cousin Joanne Scattergood, Shillington, survive him.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Park.
