Ronald J. Westley

Ronald J. "Buck" Westley, 78, of West Reading, died February 28, 2009 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Ann M. (Puwalski) Westley for over 52 years.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John H. and Helen K. (Devine) Westley.

Buck graduated from: Reading Catholic 1948 and St. Francis College, Loretto, PA, in 1952, where he earned a B.S. in Business.

He was employed in the personnel department at Western Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1986.

Mr. Westley was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Westley was a CYO basketball coach at Sacred Heart for 12 years.

Buck was an avid Notre Dame Fan; he relished the first time he visited the Notre Dame campus with his grandchildren in October of 2002.

Also surviving are three sons: Patrick R. Westley of Brookhaven, Delaware County; Dennis J., husband of Cynthia Westley of Glenn Mills, Delaware County and Steven F., husband of Florence Westley of Spring Township. Six grandchildren, Lauren, Brooke, Sarah, Michael, Ryan and Katherine also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Inurnment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. There will be no public viewing.
