Ronald J. Rinck, 82, passed away on Dec. 7, 2021, at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, Chester County after a brief illness.
He was the widower of Susan M. (Walck), to whom he was married from 1997 to 2012, and was a former husband of Carol M. Edwards (Macek) from 1963 to 1978.
Born in Reading on Jan. 3, 1939, he was a son of the late Joseph and Pearl (Ashton) Rinck.
He graduated in 1956 from Governor Mifflin Senior High School in Shillington.
Ronald served our nation proudly and valiantly in the United States Navy from 1956-60, serving predominantly in Western Europe and the Pacific theater on the USS John Willis-3.
He was employed by IBM as typewriter repair technician from 1960-62, later working for Knoblauch Realty. He opened his own real estate firm, Ronald J. Rinck Real Estate in the late 1960's, operating a successful brokerage with branches in several counties in southeastern Pa. throughout the 1970's. His tagline of "Thinck Rinck" was well known throughout Berks County during that time.
Ronald was involved with a number of local organizations in many capacities during the 1970's, including Reading SCUBA Club, Knights of Columbus and other local business organizations. He served as president of the Reading Jaycees in 1965, and was a member of the Reading-Berks Association of Realtors throughout the 1970's. He relocated to Tannersville in the 1990's, operating Eastern States Financial until his retirement in 2012.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Temple.
He is survived by four children: Beth M. Renfro (Rinck) of Phoenix, Ariz., Lisa A. Erb (Rinck), wife of Brian S. Erb of Blandon, Pa., John J. Rinck of San Jose, Calif., and Michael S. Rinck of Alhambra, Calif; his eight grandchildren: Matthew Renfro, Chelsea Erb, Megan Erb, Brian Erb, Jr., John Rinck, Jr., Jocelyn Rinck, Mylee Rinck and Charlotte Rinck; and one great-granddaughter, Lillyana Wagner.
Ronald will be remembered for the inspiring words he lived by, "Anything you can vividly imagine, ardently desire and enthusiastically act upon will inevitably come to pass."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605 with inurnment and Military Honors to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
