Ronald C. Calabrese

Ronald C. Calabrese, 82 of Flying Hills, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Fern M. (Dunkelberger) Calabrese; they were married for 61 years.

Born in Reading, Ron was a son of the late Carmen and Virginia (Huber) Calabrese. A graduate of Reading High School, Ron was a foreman for Glidden Paints, Reading.

A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Ron was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Catharine of Siena Parish. He served his nation proudly in the US Navy for three years, and was a great sports fan, especially for all of the Philadelphia teams.

Family was everything to Ron. In addition to Fern, he is survived by their three children: Gerald R. Calabrese, husband of Shari, Easton; Christine M. O'Neill, wife of Joseph, West Chester; and Karen L. Finke, wife of Donald, Pittsburgh. He will be dearly missed by his six grandchildren: Mikela, Jeffrey, Nicole, Jessica, Kelsey and Shelby. Also surviving are Ron's brother Frank Calabrese, Reading, and his sisters: Susan Lewis, DE, and Marie Long, AZ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 18, at 10:30am at St. Catharine's Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. A visitation will be held at the Church from 9:30-10:30am. Entombment will be private in Gethsemane Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's honor may be made to St. Catharine of Siena Parish, 2427 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Edward J.
