Ronald A. Bavitz, 82, of West Lawn, passed away

September 12, 2016, in the Reading Hospital.

Born in Nanticoke, Pa., he was the husband of Loretta (Urban) Bavitz, who died in 1992. He was a son of the late Joseph and Irene (Kornkiewicz) Bavitz.

Ronald was a graduate of Nanticoke High School.

He served in the United States Army during 1955-56.

Ronald spent over 30 years in the eye care profession as an optician in the Reading area. More recently, he was employed as manager for Red Wing Shoes in Allentown.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his son,

Ronald.

He is survived by his son, Ronald Bavitz, West Lawn; one brother, Gerald T. Bavitz; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Ronald was predeceased by one sister, Irene Walters.

Services will be Monday, September 19, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
