Roland L. Kuhn, Jr., 64, of Meadow Court, (Spring Township), died November 19th at 5:45pm in Christiana Hospital, Newark, Delaware, where he had been since November 11th.
Formerly of Salem Road, Colony Park, he was the husband of Sharyn L. (Parsons) Kuhn.
Born in Delaware County, he was a son of the late Roland L. Sr., and Catherine (O'Keffe) Kuhn.
He was a 1957 graduate of St. James Catholic High School for Boys, Chester, Delaware County.
Kuhn also attended Archmere Academy, Chester, Delaware County.
He was the owner for 30 years of Interstate Associates of Spring Township until his retirement earlier this year.
Kuhn was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield, where he is a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
He was a National Guard Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Kuhn was a founder of the Western Berks Kiwanis Club and served as Lt. Governor of Kiwanis Division 16 and was on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Kiwanis.
He started "Key Clubs" at both Conrad Weiser and Governor Mifflin High Schools.
Kuhn started the Miss Berks County Pageant in 1986.
He was a State field director for the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant and Judged nationwide for Miss America Pageants.
Kuhn is also survived by a son, Martin F. of West Wyomissing and a daughter, Colleen M. Kuhn of Long Beach, California.
Other survivors include four sisters, Kathleen (Kuhn) DiAmato and Violet (Kuhn) Magarvey, both of Florida, Suzanne (Kuhn) Kelleher of Haddonfield, New Jersey and Margaret (Kuhn) Cardell of Brookhaven, Pa.
There is one granddaughter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Sinking Spring, Pa 19608. Viewing will be 9:00 am until time of mass in the church. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o St. Ignatius R.C. Church at the above address.
