Rodman W. Fischer, 89, formerly of Spring Township, died April 10, 2012, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
His wife, Shirley C. (nee Broome) Fischer, died July 7, 2007.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Wayne L. and Helen M. (Lorah) Fischer.
Rodman was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School.
He was employed by Kawecki Berylco- NGK for 38 years, as a production manager, retiring in 1985.
Rodman was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII were he received the Bronze Star.
He was past president and one of the former founders of the Owls Sports Club.
Rodman was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Cathy R., wife of Joseph Jacobs, Bridgeville, DE and David W, husband of Linda Fischer, Cumru Township; his sister, Sydne L. Long, Exeter Township; his brother, Kenneth L. Fischer, Flying Hills; his granddaughter, Shawne, wife of Matt Weinhold, Spring Township and two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Christina Weinhold.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Ann Stehman.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
