Robert R. Zeiber

Robert R. Zeiber, 87, of Exeter Township, died January 6, 2014 in Golden Living Center, Exeter Township.

He was the husband of Mary (Burdan) Zeiber who died, February 28, 1973.

Born July 8, 1926 in Reading, he was a son of the late Roger and Mary (Wolf) Zeiber.

He was employed as a welder with Carpenter Technology for over 20 years, retiring in the late '80s.

Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

An outdoors man, Robert enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay and in Rock Hall, MD, where he enjoyed crabbing and fishing.

Robert loved cars, watching western movies and was an avid sports fans, especially the Phillies and Eagles.

Surviving is his daughter, Becky Lynn (Zeiber), wife of Randy D. Gaston of Exeter Township and his three grandchildren, Troy, husband of Bambi Gaston, Sean, husband of Jamye Gaston and Michelle, wife of John D. Painter, Jr.

There are also six great grandchildren surviving: Tristan, Caleb, MaKayla, Chase, Jaylin and Reilly.

Robert was the last of 10 children surviving.

Services will be Friday at 12 p.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
