Robert G. Woolston, 84, formerly of Wernersville, died December 11, 2007 at Stone Ridge Campus of ECC Retirement Village, Myerstown.

He was the husband of Claire W. (Weeber) Woolston.

Born in Compton, CA, he was the son of the late Sidney C. and Frances M. (Maundrell) Woolston.

He was a graduate of Los Angeles High School in 1941 and the American Institute of Banking in 1942. He attended Syracuse University, Penn State University, the Wharton School of Business, and Connecticut University.

He was a WW II veteran of the U.S Army, and he was awarded the Bronze Star. During his career in the Army, Bob was stationed in India.

Robert was a Realtor beginning his career for C.R. Weeber from 1946 to 1955. From 1955 to 2000 he founded and operated R.G. Woolston and Associates, Shillington and Century 21 Woolston Associates, Shillington. He finished his career at Century 21, Park Road, retiring in late 2005.

He was a Federal Housing Administration Area Management Broker and an Administration Fee Appraiser. Bob was an Independent Fee Appraiser for Penn Dot for many years.

Bob was the former President of the Reading Board of Realtors, where he also was Chairman of: Real Estate Traders and Exchange Group, Program Committee for Commercial Investment Programs and Seminars, Commercial Investment Division, the Grievance and Human Relations Committees. He also served on the Board of Director for the Reading Board of Realtors for three different terms; and served as Vice President and President in 1975 and 1976 respectively. He also served on the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors Board of Directors in 1975-1976 and again in 1981-1982.

He was the former Vice President and President of the Pennsylvania-Delaware CCIM Chapter and was also formerly the president and a member of the Board of Directors for the Keystone CRB Chapter.

Mr. Woolston was a past President of: Reciprocity Club of Reading, the Reciprocity Clubs of America, the Sales and Marketing Executives of Reading, and the Keystone Flyers.

He was a charter member of the Wyomissing Lions Club, Alsace Township Lions Club, and the Berks County Young Republican Club.

Bob was past Chairman for the American Heart Association, Berks County Chapter. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association, Pennsylvania Affiliate, the Mid-Eastern Heart Association, the Berks-Schuylkill Heart Association and the Berks County Heart Association.

He was a charter member of the Limekiln Hunt Club where he enjoyed riding to the hounds. In addition, he served as a volunteer for the Berks County Pony Club. He enjoyed swimming, bodysurfing, tennis and basketball and was a Life Scout for the Boy Scouts of America.

Bob was a private pilot, flying his own plane into his 70's. Combining his passion for flying with his professional interest in real estate, he co-authored "The Use of Aircraft in appraisals of Real Estate".

Bob was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.

He is also survived by his daughter, Sandra J., wife of Eugene E. Cummings, Mohnton; and his son, Robert, Jr. husband of Mary Jo Woolston, Huntingdon Valley. One granddaughter, Kelli J. Cummings, wife of Amit Thakkar, and one great-grandson, Rohan Thakkar, of Columbus, OH also survive him.

Memorial Services will be held in late January, with the date and time announced next month. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 25 Stevens Avenue West Lawn, PA 19609.
