Robert H. Weidenhammer

Robert H. Weidenhammer, 85, of West Wyomissing, died April 22, 2010 in ManorCare, West Reading.

He was the husband of Jane L. (Richards) Weidenhammer. They were married 64 years.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Dora C. (Bowers) Weidenhammer.

He was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School.

Robert was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, earning a Purple Heart.

He worked in the receiving department of Dana Corp., for 46 1/2 years retiring in 1983.

Robert was inducted into the Reading Buccaneers Hall of Fame.

He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Reading.

He was a past commander of the former Post 179 VFW of Reading; and was a life member of: Berkshire Heights, Neversink and West Wyomissing Fire Companies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kurt R. Weidenhammer, Philadelphia; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
