Robert Walker Jones

Robert Walker Jones, 87 of Spring Township passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Joan (Ash) Jones. They married on August 17, 1963 sharing over 61 years together.

Born in Wilmington, NC, he was the son of the late Charles McDaniel Jones, Jr. and Myrtle Grace (Walker) Jones. Robert attended the University of North Carolina and Greensboro College earning a degree in Industrial Psychology in 1965. He served his country in the Army Reserves from 1959-1965. He worked as a manager of employment and human resources for Gilbert Associates, Miller & Associates, was a district executive for the Boy Scouts of America in PA, DE, and MD, and taught for the BCIU.

Robert volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America. He was honored for his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts with the Wood Badge and Silver Buffalo Awards and also the Life Family Church Award. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, reading, and going to his beach house in Oak Island, NC. He also loved canoeing, fishing, camping & golfing with his friends. He was an avid UNC basketball fan.

Robert was a member of St. Peter's UCC where he served as president of the church council and in many other capacities. He also served for several years as President of the Berks County Library Board. Robert was also very involved in the Human Relations Council.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, daughter, Ashlynne J. Khaldaoui, wife of Akim of West Lawn, grandchildren, Amir Khaldaoui, Alexander Khaldoaui, Elise Jones, and Evan Walker Jones and daughter-in-law, Ashby Jones. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews & great-nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Robert Walker Jones, Jr. & his sister, Danielle Lee.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's UCC, West Lawn. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
