Robert W. Senft

Robert W. Senft, 72, of 3302 Arlington Street, Laureldale, Pa 19605, died December 18th at 3:20 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since November 17th.

He was the widower of Fern E. (Miller) Senft, who died August 20, 2001.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Walter A. and Helen C. (Wagner) Senft.

He was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Senft was a member of St. John's Gernant's Lutheran Church, Ontelaunee Township, where he served 18 years on the Lutheran Council.

He has served as the President of the Gernant's Cemetery Company, Ontelaunee Township since 1984.

Senft was a life member of the Temple Fire Company.

He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War.

Senft drove a tanker truck for Coastal Tank Lines, York for 15 years, he later drove for another 15 years at Chemical Leaman, Lancaster.

He was last employed for 10 years as a tanker truck driver for Paco Products, Reading until his retirement.

Senft is survived by two step-daughters, Cynthia A. (Miller) Frymoyer of Laureldale and Lori A. (Miller) Turner of Leesport.

He is also survived by a sister, Romaine C. (Senft) Fick, of Muhlenberg Park.

There are also two step-granddaughters.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. Alfred H. Erb officiating. Viewing 9:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to St. John's Gernant's Lutheran Church, PO Box 587, Leesport, Pa 19533.
