Robert J. Vaughn

Robert J. Vaughn, 72, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in the care of Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation. He was the widower of Kathleen A. Vaughn, his high school sweetheart, who passed away in 2004. Born in Ashland, PA, to the late Robert C. and Lenore B. (Colihan) Vaughn, Bob graduated from Cardinal Brennan High School in 1969 and from Penn State in 1973 with his bachelor's degree in biology. Bob spent most of his professional career as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

Faith was very important to Bob. He and Kathleen were founding members of the New Hope Christian Church of Pottsville. After settling in the Reading area, Bob became involved with Glad Tidings Church.

Bob enjoyed basketball and coached his daughters' basketball teams when they were young. He made his home, especially the back yard, a welcome space in the neighborhood for friends and neighborhood kids to come and go freely.

Left to treasure Robert's memory are his children: Kelly Vaughn Madin, wife of Christopher Madin, of Granby, CT; Katie Achenbach of Birdsboro; and Lindsey Gordon, wife of Jamie, of Sinking Spring; his grandchildren, Audrey, Sophia, Jake, Matthew, Luke, and Madison; and his sister, Barbara Lyden, wife of James, of Ashland. Bob is also survived by his former second wife, Linda (Manse) Vaughn. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Everett.

Services will be private. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fountain Springs, PA. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
