Robert E. Thomas, Jr. "B.T.", 58, of Sinking Spring, passed away November 5, 2012, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

He was the husband of Virginia (Frey) Thomas, his high school sweetheart, whom he married on September 16, 1978. They had just celebrated their thirty-fourth anniversary.

Born in Tacoma, WA, he was a son of Frances (Smith) Thomas, wife of Alexander Busby, Jacksonville, FL and the late Robert E. Thomas, Sr., husband of Jeanne Thomas, Beaver Falls.

He was a graduate of Princeton University, where he played football and rugby and was a member of Tiger Inn.

Bob was employed by Carpenter Technology for 30 years until retiring in 2008. He has been employed by Boston Centerless for the past four years.

He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Reading, where he served as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher for children and adults and was a youth group leader. His greatest love was serving Jesus Christ.

Bob coached youth football, soccer and baseball throughout his adult life.

He is also survived by his three sons, Robert, husband of Anna, Macungie; Nathan, Hoboken, NJ; and Ian, Harrisburg. There are three siblings, Daniel, Norrköping, Sweden; Michael, Champaign, IL; and Julie Klecker, Saginaw, MI. One grandson, Becket, and one expected granddaughter also survive him.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 37 S. 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
