Robert L. Streeter, 85, passed away March 6, 2008 in Brighten Gardens Assisted Living Center, Md.
He was a husband of the late Dorothy (Poole) Streeter who died in 1997.
Born in Oakmont, Allegheny County, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Louise (Rapalje) Streeter.
Mr. Streeter was a Merchant Marine engineering officer during World War 11 and a naval officer in the Korean War, serving abroad the USS Wheatear as engineering officer and executive officer.
He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and pursued advanced studies in mechanical engineering at Pennsylvania State University, were he also was an instructor in this field.
He also tauht mechanical engineering at the University of Kentucky and at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Streeter's engineering career spanned 48 years, during which time he and his family lived in many states of the Union.
In Berks County, he was most recently associated1983-1994 with Wagner Group, Inc. formerly of Reading, and the former Gilberts of Reading for seven years retiring in 1994.
He is survived by a daughter Robin Streeter, wife of Michael Parr, Chevy Case, MD; a son, Michael F. Streeter, Columbia, NC; and a sister Anne Robers, Northern CA.
