Robert J. Stamm

Robert J. Stamm, Jr., 97, of West Lawn, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in the Reading Hospital. Born August 14, 1921, in Womelsdorf, he was the son of the late Emily (Naftzinger) and Robert John Stamm, Sr. He was married to the late Anna (Naftzinger) Stamm, who passed in 1986.

A graduate of the former Womelsdorf High School, Robert worked all his life as a Shop Foreman and Electrician for Standard Electric, retiring in 1986. He served proudly in the US Army during World War II and will be buried with military honors.

Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed sports, playing tennis, golf and bowling. He also enjoyed long drives and birdwatching at Hawk Mountain and the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area. Robert was a longtime member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his grandchildren: Jere Stamm, Jr., and Rebecca Pacifico, wife of Brandon; his great grandchildren Benjamin and Sadie Pacifico; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Stamm-Sterner, wife of Frank Sterner, Fleetwood, and widow of Jere R. Stamm, Sr., who passed in 1986.

A graveside service for Robert will be held Friday at 11:30am at Union Cemetery, Womelsdorf.
