Robert Allen "Bobby" Shomo, 68, died June 16, 2007 at 10:45 pm in his Temple home after losing a battle with leukemia that he valiantly fought for 14 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Sena Louise (Baker) Shomo, whom he married February 15, 1964.

Born December 17, 1938 in the Hyde Park home of his parents, the late Robert Edwin and Ida Loretta (Sweitzer) Shomo.

He is also survived by his loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Letitia "Tish" A. and Michael B. Manwiller of Temple.

Other survivors include two brothers, David husband of Barbara Shomo of Birdsboro and Leslie husband of Diana (Hoover) Shomo of Reading.

He was the proud and loving grandfather of Sarah A. Manwiller who he always enjoyed watching cheer for Muhlenberg High School and Tyler C. Manwiller who he enjoyed target shooting with at Perry Gun Club.

Bobby is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Fern (Stoudt) and Francis Baker of Wernersville and three sister-in-laws, Sandra wife of Raymond Epright of Birdsboro, Nancy wife of James Brown of Alabama and Joan, widow of Barry Shomo of Shillington.

There are also four nieces and five nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Barry Shomo.

Bobby was a 1956 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was employed 38 years with Met-Ed, Muhlenberg Township, until his retirement in 1994.

Bobby was an Army Veteran.

He was a lifetime member of both the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Blue Lodge #549 F&AM, Rajah Temple, Wyomissing, where he was a Shriner and served on its consistory.

Bobby was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Whispering Pines Hunting Club, Wellsboro, PA.

He was a devoted Penn State Football Fan and a wine enthusiast who made his own wine. He had a passion for cars and loved to drive.

Bobby will be missed both by family, friends and his pets, Penny and Lucky.

A viewing will be held Thursday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be private in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Flowers are welcome but the family request that you do a kind deed for someone in Bobby's memory.
