Robert Charles Schaufert

Robert Charles Schaufert, 74, of Sinking Spring, died January 29, 2009 in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the husband of Sara A. (Youmans) Schaufert, to whom he married on February 24, 1964.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Anna M. (Schwambach) Schaufert.

He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1952; upon graduation he joined the US Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Bob was employed by Carpenter Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1996.

He loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Browns.

In addition to his wife, is survived by one son, Keith E. Hinkel, Seaford, DE and one grandson, Keith E. Hinkel, Jr., Muhlenberg Twp.

A public viewing will be held Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Services and burial will be private.
