Robert M. Sanders

Robert M Sanders of Blandon, formerly Spring Township and Reading, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was the loving husband of Doris (Zuwiala) Sanders, married on April 24, 1954. Born in McSherrystown, PA, he was the son of the late Leroy A Sanders and Aimee (Devine) Sanders.

Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950 and from Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute in 1953. He was employed by Rockwell International in the Engineering Dept and retired from Universal Machine Company as a machine designer.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with his family at the Hunting Camp in Lycoming County. He was a model train enthusiast and a 50-year member of the Train Collector's Association. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Bob was fond of going to the beaches in De, NJ, MD, and NC. He and Doris also took many memorable cruises.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert J, Wernersville and Douglas J (Michele) Spring Township, grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, Lauren and Kaitlyn, and three great-grandchildren Isabella, Penelope and Alexander. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Pauline Monde Blandon and Julia DiAngelis Watertown CT, brother Leroy Blandon and sister-in-law June Sanders Hanover PA.

The family would like to extend gratitude for the care provided by Keystone Villa, Aseracare Hospice and Assured Assistance.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to either Sacred Heart School, 701 Franklin Street, West Reading 19611, or the American Cancer Society.

Bob and Doris were members of Sacred Heart Church in West Reading for over 60 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2026 in Sacred Heart RCC, 740 Cherry St, Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:00 am until the start of the Mass.
