Robert C. Robertson, Jr. 93, a resident of Phoebe Berks, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away on June 29, 2025. He shared 50 years of marriage with his wife, Joyce (Rider) Robertson who predeceased him in 2003.
Bob was born October 17, 1931 in Syracuse, NY, the son of Robert Robertson and Christine (Wopat) Robertson. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Mitchell. He graduated from Scarsdale High School, Lafayette College, and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. Bob was a first Lieutenant in the United States Army serving in Trieste, Italy in 1954. During the following years he was Vice President of Wheeling Steel, General Battery, and Hamilton Bank before buying Schuler Machine Company in Reading. Late in life he enjoyed substitute teaching in the Wyomissing, Wilson, and Conrad Weiser school districts.
Bob and his wife were members of the West Lawn and Lincoln Park United Methodist Churches. Bob loved serving on church boards and giving the "Children's Message" at Lincoln Park. For many years he served on the Board of Cornwall Manor. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Robertson Diamond, wife of John A. Diamond, Bern Township; Chris Robertson, Denver Colorado; Cassie Robertson, South Tacoma, Washington; and Jennifer Robertson Troxelle, Orlando, Florida. Bob had nine grandchildren: Kathryn Diamond Rothstein, Meghan Diamond Holota, Ryan Robertson, Zach Robertson, Terry Gordon, Beth Ann Weitzel Brown, Mark Weitzel, Michelle King, and Heather Thompson. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
He was a resident of Phoebe Berks from 2022 to 2025 and referred to his time there as "Living the dream." His family would like to thank the Phoebe staff and Lifesong Hospice for providing excellent care, especially during his final days. The Kuhn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A private burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
